A lung function test determines the extent to which the lungs and airways are fully functional.

Spirometry

Diseases such as asthma, COPD (chronic obstructive bronchitis (smoking), emphysema and many more) can be detected at an early stage.

Spirometry is used for health problems such as coughing, shortness of breath, sputum production, long-term cigarette consumption and as part of fitness tests in sports and occupational medicine.

It is a forced breathing test that measures different lung volumes and airflow velocities and thus provides information about lung function.
